The castle’s museum
in the
former court house
The former court house was built from 1745 - 1748 and was used in its function as a court house until the first half of the 19th century. The jurisdiction of counties was abolished in 1846 and the building was then used as the library of the Lynars. In 2005 the facade was renovated, which was a big step to the building’s future purpose of being the castle’s museum. The rooms inside the building still need renovation efforts in order to become a real museum. Currently they are temporary restored and used for smaller exhibitions. The future museum will contain an exhibition on the history of the family of the counts of Lynar, the castle, its park, the orangery, the stable house and the court house.
