The Lübbenau castle is situated in the middle of the spree forest and is among the most impressive neo-classical residence facilities in Brandenburg. It suggests its visitor a noble and homogeneous impression. The ensemble consists of a widespread area which is surrounded by water streams, the castle’s park and forest. Therefore, although close to the city it seems to be far away. Looking at the buildings more closely already gives first insights on the building history, which is closely related to the family of the counts of Lynar. The main use of the ensemble today is for tourist purposes and it is therefore more open to the public then ever before.
